WHAT’S AT STAKE

TCU needs a win to remain highly ranked in the College Football Playoff top 25, while West Virginia is going after its fifth straight win. Both teams are having surprisingly strong seasons, considering they were picked to finish toward the bottom of the league, and have upcoming showdowns with first-place Kansas State. TCU plays the Wildcats at home next week and West Virginia faces K-State at home on Nov. 20.

KEY MATCHUP

West Virginia QB Clint Trickett against TCU’s secondary. Trickett had his streak of eight straight games of 300 passing yards snapped last week at Oklahoma State. He was 21 of 30 for 238 yards and two scores. The Horned Frogs have allowed three 300-yard passing performances in their last four games, including 510 yards to Baylor’s Bryce Petty.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

TCU: QB Trevone Boykin set a school record with seven TD passes against Texas Tech. He’s thrown for 433 and 410 yards in his last two games. Boykin played wide receiver a year ago in a loss to West Virginia, making 11 catches for 100 yards.

West Virginia: WR Kevin White had his streak of seven consecutive games with 100 yards receiving snapped against Oklahoma State. He was limited to three catches for 27 yards in double coverage but managed a 19-yard scoring reception.
