Northern Colorado gets by Houston Baptist 28-20

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — Darius Graham scored a 7-yard touchdown with 4:46 remaining to give Northern Colorado a 28-20 win over Houston Baptist on Saturday.

Jonathan Fleming then completed 8 passes in a row, driving HBU (0-2) 65 yards to UNC’s 7, but failed to score. Kyle Griffin broke up Fleming’s pass to Brandon Taylor as time expired.

UNC (1-1), which suffered a 13-12 loss to FBS UNLV last Saturday, had a struggle to get its first win. The Bears have now equaled the number of victories they had in 2013.

Sean Rubalcaba threw for 178 yards and Robert Holland rushed for 86 yards on 16 carries to lead the Bears. Graham finished with 56 yards on 16 carries.

HBU led 20-15 following Travis Shinn’s 24-yard field goal in the third. Rubalcaba gave the Huskies a slim 21-20 lead when he scored from the 2 with 10:04 remaining in the game.
