WASHINGTON –If Austin Dennison doesn’t qualify for the great-grandson of the year award, we don’t know who would.
The 19-year-old high school senior Parkway High School in Rockford, Ohio, not only took his great-grandmother Delores Dennison to his prom, but he made sure he danced with her to a song her late husband used to sing to her when they were young: Frank Sinatra’s “How I love the kisses of Delores.”
According to a recent column by Todd Starnes at Foxnews.com, Delores Dennison, 89, never went to her high school prom — her family couldn’t afford the expense, according to Starnes. Her great-grandson knew this, and a few months back, he called up “Granny DD” and posed the question.
“I asked her if she would be my prom date,” Austin told Starnes. “How cool would it be to take my great-grandmother to prom?”
Granny DD was a bit floored. “He was so sweet and adamant about it,” Delores said. “I asked him,
