WASHINGTON – Whether you are taking Metro to the Nationals-Yankees series this weekend or just coming into D.C. for the day, you’ll need to give yourself some extra time, if you are taking Metro.
Every Metro line except the Green Line will be impacted by work.
- On the Red Line, there’s single tracking between Takoma and Forest Glen and between Friendship Heights and Medical Center.
Crews will reconstruct the platform and install fiber optic cable.
Trains between Shady Grove and Glenmont will run every 24 minutes this weekend.
Add at least 15 minutes to your commute.
Extra trains will run every 12 minutes through downtown.
- On the Blue Line, buses replace trains between Franconia and Van Dorn Street. There’s single tracking on the Blue and Orange lines between Eastern Market and Stadium Armory. Work is being done on the platform.
Riders should add 30 minutes to their trips.
Additionally, buses will replace Blue Line trains at the Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn Street stations. Bridge work and track upgrades will be underway.
Free shuttle bus service will be offered between Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street and Eisenhower Avenue stations.
If you typically park at Franconia-Springfield or Van Dorn Street, Metro recommends using the Huntington Station.
- Yellow Line trains run every 20 minutes between Huntington and Mount Vernon Square.
Add 10 minutes to any Yellow Line travel.
The work starts at 10 p.m. Friday and lasts through the weekend.
