A piece of punk history: Joey Ramone’s records for sale

WASHINGTON – Ramone wrote many of the songs for The Ramones and now his admiring public will get a look at some of his influences when 97 records from his personal collection are auctioned off.

Billboard reports the online auction will also include some of Ramone’s clothing, his passport, handwritten lyrics and his personal Rolodex.

Record titles up for sale include Led Zeppelin, the Who, Cream, Bob Dylan, Elton John and Kiss, Billboard says.

And even though Joey Ramone said punk was a reaction to the rock scene in the early ’70s, his collection includes Emmerson Lake and Palmer.

The online auction opens Feb. 14 and ends Feb. 21. The minimum bid is $500.
