Oprah Winfrey, seemingly desperate to make her OWN network partnership with Discovery Communications a success, ran into trouble with ratings company Nielsen Sunday when she pleaded on Twitter for fans with Nielsen measuring devices to tune into OWN, The New York Times reported.
When Winfrey tweeted, “Every 1 who can please turn to OWN especially if u have a Neilsen box,” on Sunday she crossed a line that Nielsen takes very seriously to not coerce viewership. Winfrey has removed the tweet and apologized, according to The Times.
