Gary Kachadourian took home the “Best in Show” first prize in the 2013 Trawick Prize, the annual competition from BUP and philanthropist Carol Trawick that takes place at Gallery B (7700 Wisconsin Ave., Suite E).
The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District announced the top four prize winners on Friday during the opening of an exhibit that includes the works of the eight finalists.
Kachadourian won for his portrait of a chain link fence. Adam Hager, from D.C., won the $2,000 second place prize for his “Super Tuff” typewriter and D.C. resident Mariah Anne Johnson got $1,000 for third place.
The exhibit will be open until Sept. 28, from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays through Saturdays.
Trawick, a past chair of the Bethesda Urban Partnership, established the competition in 2003.
