Infant found dead in vehicle at Naval air station

PATUXENT RIVER, Md. (AP) — Officials at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River say an infant has been found dead in a vehicle at the station.

Connie Hempel, public affairs officer for the air station, said in a news release that the male infant was found unresponsive in the back of a vehicle about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. She says the station’s fire and emergency services responded and performed CPR.

Hempel says the infant was pronounced dead at 4:15 p.m.

The incident is under investigation by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
