WASHINGTON – Sales from a beer with local connections will help military veterans and their families.
Through a program called Hops for Heroes, 11 breweries are making Homefront IPA. All proceeds from the beer will benefit Operation Homefront, a national non-profit organization.
The beer was originally developed by Ashland, Virginia-based Center of the Universe Brewing Co., and Fremont Brewing Co. in Seattle. The beer program started in 2011.
“The American IPA is aged on Louisville Slugger maple bats and infused with orange zest. Biscuit, honey, and grapefruit pith notes will play on your tongue, followed by a memorable dry, bitter finish,” according to Colorado-based Left Hand Brewing Co., a participating brewer.
Operation Homefront supports military veterans and their families through a variety of programs, including providing food and financial assistance during difficult times, supporting wounded veterans and their caretakers, and celebrating and appreciating military members and their families.
