Police: Potomac stabbings followed massive party crashing

WASHINGTON — Montgomery County police officers are investigating several assaults and stabbings that occurred early Saturday morning outside a home in Potomac.

Shortly after 1 a.m., police officers responded to a home along Alloway Court for a reported stabbing, where a party had been held earlier that evening. At some point during the party, uninvited guests entered the home and the party was shut down.

News of the party spread on social media; as a result, more people showed up than originally intended, Montgomery County Police spokesman Paul Starks said Saturday.

Many guests gathered outside the home — where, according to police, fights broke out. As police arrived, other partygoers had already taken the injured people to local hospitals.

Then at 1:46 a.m., police received a call from a local hospital reporting that a stabbing victim had come into the emergency room. There, officers found a 20-year-old man suffering from a stab wound and an 18-year-old boy suffering from injuries to his face and torso.

Soon after, police in another neighborhood received a report from a local hospital that a stabbing victim had come into its emergency room. Police responded and found a 15-year-old boy suffering from a stab wound.

The three boys had been at the party on Alloway Court and were injured at the home.

At this time, the 20-year-old and the 18-year-old have been treated and released from the hospital; the 15-year-old is still hospitalized and receiving treatment for his injuries.

A suspect has not been identified. Detectives are still unsure whether the same suspect(s) are responsible for all three victims’ injuries.

Officers returned to the home along Alloway Court and were able to recover evidence related to the assaults and stabbings. A weapon was found near the home, but it’s still unclear whether the recovered weapon is the same one used in the assaults.

The investigation continues. If anyone has information, they’re asked to call 240-773-6710.
