WASHINGTON - Gas prices are the same this week as last, but still 26 cents a gallon higher than a year ago. The WTOP Pain in the Gas Survey this week shows the price for regular gas at $3.90 a gallon.

Mid-grade squeaked up 1 cent to $4.19 a gallon, and premium climbed 3 cents to $4.26.

Diesel went up the most by a nickel to $4.20 a gallon.

Experts predicted prices would dip after the Labor Day weekend however that hasn't happened yet.

On Sept. 15, 2011, WTOP's survey found the average price of a gallon of regular to be $3.64. A year ago, mid-grade averaged $3.81 a gallon and premium $3.95 Diesel was $3.98 a gallon.
