Hundreds without electricity in region

UPDATE:

Power has been restored in the D.C. area.

WASHINGTON – More than 1,000 Pepco customers are in the dark Saturday.

The utility company believes a tree fell on a power line in Northwest D.C. around noon, knocking out power to more than 1,300 customers in the District and Chevy Chase.

Another 100 customers in Prince George’s County are also experiencing outages following Friday’s storm.

Potomac Edison has about 150 customers out in the area. And other power companies like Baltimore Gas and Electric and Dominion have a handful of customers still without power.
