Woodbridge man charged with cutting brake line on car

WASHINGTON – A Woodbridge man has been arrested for allegedly cutting the brake line on a vehicle belonging to a woman he knows.

Prince William County police were called to investigate a possible vehicle tampering shortly before 10 a.m. Dec. 30 in the 4100 block of Wind Flower Court in Woodbridge.

They found a 23-year-old woman and her 2-year-old child. The woman had attempted to drive the car when the brakes would not work.

The woman was able to stop the car safely without causing damage.

Police named Kevin Reilly, 36, of the 14000 block of Fallbrook Lane in Woodbridge, a suspect in the incident.

Reilly has been charged with two counts of attempted malicious wounding, vehicle tampering and destruction of property.

He is being held on a $5,000 bond. A court date was not immediately available.
