Charles inactive for Chiefs against Dolphins

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Running back Jamaal Charles is inactive for the Kansas City Chiefs against Miami because of a high ankle sprain.

Charles was hurt last Sunday, practiced on a limited basis during the week and had been listed as questionable. He has missed only one other game since the start of the 2012 season.

Knile Davis was to make his second career start Sunday in place of Charles.

Center Mike Pouncey was again inactive for the Dolphins. He’s recovering from hip surgery, but returned to practice on a limited basis during the week. Linebacker Jordan Tripp was inactive because of a chest injury.

Miami tight end Charles Clay was active. He had been questionable with an ankle injury.
