Four Palestinians killed during West Bank protests

JERUSALEM (AP) — Palestinian hospital officials say four Palestinians have been killed during West Bank protests against Israel’s military operation in the Gaza Strip.

The circumstances of the shootings in two separate villages are not yet clear. In both locations, clashes were reported between Israeli troops and protesters.

A hospital official in Nablus says two Palestinians were shot and killed during a protest in Hawara.

The emergency room at a hospital in Hebron says two men were killed by gunfire in a village where protesters threw stones at Israeli soldiers posted at an entrance to the village.

The West Bank has seen increasing unrest over Israel’s ground operation in Gaza. Yesterday, thousands of Palestinians clashed with Israeli forces at a West Bank checkpoint and in east Jerusalem.
