WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is planning visits next month to Boston and New York to raise money for Democrats.

That’s according to three Democratic officials.

Obama will be in Boston on June 11 for a fundraiser benefiting the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey also plans to attend.

The following week Obama will be in New York for events boosting the Democratic National Committee. He’ll attend a gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender gala with the DNC chairwoman. The DNC is holding a contest for a free trip to see Obama in New York.

Obama has held more than two dozen fundraisers for Democratic groups this year, with plans for many more.

The officials insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss trips that haven’t been announced.
