18th woman groped in Springfield, new sketch released

WASHINGTON – Fairfax County Police have released a new composite sketch of a suspected serial groper in the Springfield area.

Police released the sketch at the same time they announced a possible 18th incident that occurred in the 6600 block of Grey Fox Drive in Springfield Feb. 6 shortly after 5 p.m.

A 21-year-old woman told police she had been walking alone when the suspect approached her from behind, grabbed her buttocks and fled.

The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as white or possibly Hispanic, 5-feet-6-inches to 5- feet-8-inches tall, and approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a gray T-shirt with blue sleeves, dark sweatpants, white sneakers and a cloth partially covering his face.

The sketch also shows the suspect who may be involved in two incidents reported on Jan. 30. In both of those cases, the suspect was described as having acne or shaving bumps on his cheeks.
