D.C. restaurateur diagnosed with Alzheimer’s

WASHINGTON — Barbara Smith, a decades-long fixture in Washington, D.C., has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, according to an interview with CBS News.

Smith, 64, owned the popular B. Smith’s soul food restaurant in Union Station until it closed in 2013. She also owns two restaurants in New York City and Sag Harbor, N.Y.
