Community groups say 2 stabbed in a Jewish neighborhood of London

LONDON (AP) — Two Jewish community groups say two people were stabbed in a London neighborhood with large Jewish community and a suspect was arrested.

The security organization Shomrim said a suspect “was seen running along Golders Green Road armed with a knife and attempting to stab Jewish members of the public.”

It said the suspect was detained by Shomrim members before being arrested by police.

Another organization, the Community Security Trust, also said a man had been arrested after a knife attack.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the reported incident was “deeply concerning.”

There was no immediate confirmation from police.

The incident follows a series of arson attacks in recent weeks targeting Jewish sites in London, including a synagogue and a charity’s ambulances.
