TODAY:
Mostly cloudy
Highs: 58-63
Winds: South 5-10 mph
Milder weather is in store later today with afternoon high temperatures, seasonable for late March, in the upper 50s. More clouds than sun are expected, but no rain is in the forecast, so it should befairly pleasant for any outdoor plans. The cherry blossoms are nearing peak bloom at the Tidal Basin, so the weather will be nice to take in the spring sights.
TONIGHT:
Mostly cloudy
Lows: 45-49
Winds: South 5 mph
Quiet weather is expected overnight, as low temperatures fall into the 40s. It will be dry with abundant clouds and light southerly winds.
THURSDAY:
Partly sunny, breezy
Highs: 75-79
Winds: Southwest 5-15, Gusts 25 mph
Thursday turns much warmer and starts to feel more like spring. Morning temperatures will already be milder and, by the afternoon, highs will climb well into the 70s. Southerly breezes will increase during the afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds. The cherry blossoms may reach peak bloom with the warm weather, so it will be a great day to see the pink petals.
FRIDAY:
Rain likely, breezy
Falling Temperatures
Temps: 60s to 50s
Winds: North 5-15, Gusts 25 mph
Friday brings the most unsettled weather of the stretch as that cold front moves through. Expect scattered to numerous showers, especially from early in the day into at least part of the afternoon, with even a slight chance for a thunderstorm. Behind the front, winds turn gusty and much colder air rushes in, making it feel sharply cooler by evening. Gusts of 25 to 35 mph are possible, and by Friday night wind chills will tumble into the 20s and 30s.
