Nationals postpone Friday night game

WASHINGTON — The Nationals postponed the Friday evening game against the Colorado Rockies. It will be made up Sunday evening.

The Nats’ game against the Rockies was postponed because of “consistent rain through the day and the impending forecast for this evening,” the team said. The rain so far left “field conditions unplayable.”

Parts of the region were under Flash Flood Warnings through the day. Heavy rain is expected to persist through the night.

The game will be made up as part of a split double header on Sunday. The first game will be at 1:35 p.m. and the second game will be at 7:05 p.m.

All tickets for tonight’s game will be honored for the rescheduled 7:05 p.m. game.

The team’s starting pitching will remain on turn, the Nationals said. Tanner Roark will start Saturday night.
