US women’s Olympic hockey team to appear at Saturday’s Capitals game

WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals playing the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2018 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium is reason enough to attend a hockey game, especially because it’s outside, but an added nugget, or gold nuggets, were included into the pregame festivities for Saturday: the gold-winning U.S. Olympic women’s hockey team that recently concluded their 2018 Olympic Winter Games victory will make a special appearance.

All 23 members of the team are expected to sign autographs and also participate in various skills challenges from 5 p.m. to roughly 6:30 p.m. this evening at the free fan fest in the stadium’s Blue Parking Lot near 550 Taylor Ave. in Annapolis, Maryland.

The pregame festivities will start at 2 p.m. and run until 7:30 p.m. ahead of the Capitals and Maple Leafs 8 p.m. face off. The pregame is free and open to the public. No tickets are needed but all fans who enter the pregame are subject to security screenings.

The women’s hockey team will also be honored during the second intermission of Saturday’s game.
