Man accused of supplying Virginia drug dealers gets 18 years

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) — A New York man who prosecutors say supplied large quantities of heroin and other drugs to dealers in central Virginia has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.

The Free Lance-Star reports evidence presented in federal court showed 30-year-old Tyrell Brown supplied heroin, cocaine and a drug known as “molly” to dealers in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania and Orange counties over a three-year span.

Court records say Brown traveled from New York to Fredericksburg weekly to supply distributors.

The newspaper reports four local residents have also been convicted of federal charges for their roles in the drug conspiracy.
