WASHINGTON — You could bring your dog along to Virginia wineries under a bill backed Tuesday by the House of Delegates.
The bill sponsored by a group of Northern Virginia delegates led by Del. John Bell of Loudoun County would allow a dog inside or on the premises of a winery as long as the dog is kept out of any area used to actually make the wine or other food.
The House passed the bill 97-2, with only Del. Lee Ware of Powhatan and Del. David Yancey of Newport News opposed.
The bill now goes to the state Senate.
