Detour: Delta flight from Va. briefly diverted to Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — A mechanical problem forced a Delta flight from Norfolk, Virginia, to Atlanta to briefly divert to Myrtle Beach.

Kirk Lovell with Horry County Airports tells The Sun News of Myrtle Beach (http://bit.ly/2bdvfEN ) that the flight landed about 8 a.m. Monday at Myrtle Beach International Airport and resumed the flight to Atlanta a short while later.

Lovell did not know what the mechanical problem was.

Lovell said he did not know how many passengers were aboard. An A320 Airbus can carry up to 180 passengers.
