$7.8M Virginia estate to be auctioned

MILLBORO, Va. (AP) _ A $7.8 million estate covering more than 800 acres in Bath County is going on the auction block.

The Bath Alum Springs Estate includes an antebellum-style brick mansion with four-car garage, enclosed heated pool, private airstrip with three hangars, octagon-shaped contemporary home, an office building and pastures.

The Roanoke Times (http://bit.ly/1GYrQm6 ) reports that the estate will be sold in 32 parcels at an auction on Friday at the Omni Homestead Resort. It could be bought in pieces or as a whole.

Roanoke-based Woltz & Associates is handling the sale.

The late Kershi Cambata, an aviation executive, bought the estate in 1982. He died in 2008 and the family decided to sell after his widow moved to Charlottesville last fall.
