Eve Plumb, who played Jan on the sitcom, "The Brady Bunch," has sold a Malibu beach house for $3.9 million, 47 years after buying it for $55,300 at the age of 11 in 1969.
It turns out Eve Plumb, who played Jan on “The Brady Bunch,” is no fool when it comes to real estate — she just sold the house she bought when she was 11 for nearly $4 million, having bought it in 1969 for $55,300, making for a profit of roughly 6 bajillion percent. And it’s not all inflation — The Inflation Calculator says $55,300 in 1969 would be $362,000 today.
You can’t bring up Jan, or any character from “The Brady Bunch,” in any group conversation without inspiring a round of quotes and do-you-remembers, and the WTOP newsroom is no exception. So with the help of sports reporter Dave Preston, whose breadth and depth of knowledge on the subject started off impressive, veered into scary and ended up seeming a little sad, here are five great Jan moments, and a video of Eve Plumb picking her favorite episode.

MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — Jan may have always played second fiddle to older sister Marcia on “The Brady Bunch,” but she may be tops when it comes to real estate investing.
The Los Angeles Times reports actress Eve Plumb, who played Jan on the sitcom, has sold a Malibu beach house for $3.9 million, 47 years after buying it for $55,300 at the age of 11 in 1969.
The Times reports the three-bedroom, 850-square foot cottage built in the 1950s went on the market earlier this year for $4.15 million. The listing included renderings showing how the home could be reshaped into an ultramodern residence.
A spokesman for Plumb’s broker, Deasy/Penner & Partners, tells Today.com the location of the home is the property’s “most notable feature.”
