Did you fall for the Trader Joe’s rumor, or pull off your own gag this April Fools' Day?
Don’t trust that chocolate cake
On the WTOP Facebook page , Donna Spicer Brady told us about this special recipe:
“After having gotten my husband for a number of years he swore I wasn’t going to fool him again! He told his work friends of my pranks and that I would not succeed yet again! So I baked a nice chocolate cake for him to take to work and wrote Happy April Fools Day on the top with icing. I told him he could take half to work. He saw me bake it, went to bed smelling it. When he cut into the cake at lunch to share with work friends they all burst into laughter! It was styrofoam with chocolate icing and a thin slice of actual cake on the side to make it look like I had cut a sheet cake in half! Yes I had gotten him again! April Fools!”

Unauthorized White House tour
On the WTOP Facebook page , Michael Haywood told us about this White House scare:
“A woman called me out of the blue from the White House and told me that there was a group of 75 students from my bosses congressional district with a letter saying I had authorized a tour. The Director of White House tours wanted to have me fired. After freaking out and pleading to try and keep my job she let me off the hook. After calming down we started to talk and we’ve been married for 20 years.”

Just the ticket
The Maryland-National Capital Park Police issued parking tickets to all cars parked at public parks. But instead of a fine, Park Police were giving out free tickets to the Wings of Fancy Live Butterfly and Caterpillar Exhibit.

Trader NO!

‘Rustic Weave’
Artisanal toilet paper can’t be a thing, can it? Well, for today at least, Quilted Northern said it is rolling out “Quilted Northern Rustic Weave.”
“The demand for simple, handcrafted, heritage products is stronger than ever, but no toilet paper satisfies this growing sector,” a company press release stated. “The teams quickly realized that in order to create the next breakthrough innovation they needed to go back to the drawing board to create something more bespoke.”
