WASHINGTON — Saturday, March 10, was Mario Day, apparently (MAR10, Mario, get it?).
And in honor of Nintendo’s beloved and iconic character, Nintendo has partnered with Google and added a feature to navigate the mean streets as Mario in Mario Kart.
Here’s how to get it.
- Get the latest version of Google Maps (App Store on iPhones or Google Play on Androids).
- Enter a location you want to go.
- Click on Directions.
- Instead of pressing “Start,” press the “?” next to it.
- Oh yeah! Mario Time!
Happy Mar 10 Day!

A new mobile Mario Kart game is scheduled to be released in March 2019, according to Nintendo of America.
This is not the first time, Google Maps has incorporated video games in its interface. Last year, Ms. Pac-Man took over the streets.
