WASHINGTON — Amazon says it’s now offering the biggest savings of the year on digital content as part of its “Annual Digital Day” promotion.
Amazon customers can access more than 5,000 deals across eight categories, including movies and TV shows, ebooks, games and software programs.
This is the second annual Digital Day event. It’s modeled on Amazon’s popular Prime Day, but is strictly focused on digital content.
Among the offers on the site as of Friday morning:
- “The LEGO Batman Movie” for $9.99 and “Baywatch” for $7.99;
- “Darker: Fifty Shades Darker as Told by Christian” ebook for $4.99 and up to 80 percent discounts on digital versions of Marvel graphic novels; and
- H&R Block tax software for $33.74 and McAffee anti-virus software for $15.99.
“The idea behind Amazon Digital Day is to give people discounts on digital content that they can access on digital devices that they may have gotten during the holidays,” said CBS technology analyst Larry Magid. “So, for example, if you got a tablet or a Kindle, you might want some Kindle books to read. And if you got a Roku or any other device to watch digital content on a television set, then perhaps you’d be interested in a discount on some video to watch through that device.”
