People headed home from school and work early across the D.C. area Monday afternoon as a wintry mix fell on the region. The combination of rain, snow and frigid road temperatures developed over the past two weeks could cause dangerous driving and walking conditions.
A wind chill advisory has been issued for the D.C. region on New Year’s Day. Wind chill temperatures will be in the single digits, increasing risk of frostbite and hypothermia.
