New app allows Stafford Co. parents to track location of school buses

STAFFORD, Va. (AP) — Stafford County Public Schools has unveiled a new mobile application that will allow parents to track the location of their children’s school buses.

WJLA-TV ( ) reports that the My Stop app will let parents see where the bus is located, when it will arrive and if it’s going to be late.

Parents can access the application on their smartphones or by utilizing the online address, where they can log in using students’ identification numbers.

The school district says in a news release that the application will show an icon on a green route that represents the location of the bus. The arrival times will recalculate if a bus is running late.

The school district says the software was purchased in a package that initially cost nearly $75,000.
