ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Facundo Torres scored a goal in each half to propel Orlando City to a 3-0 victory over Nashville SC on Saturday night.
Torres becomes Orlando City’s all-time leader with 52 career goal contributions, one more than Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha, commonly known as Nani, had from 2019-2021.
Orlando City (10-10-7) grabbed the lead in the 10th minute when Iván Angulo took a pass from Martin Ojeda in the center of the box and sent a right-footed shot into the net. It was the fourth goal this season for Angulo and the eighth assist for Ojeda.
Torres gave Orlando City a two-goal lead four minutes later, using Dagur Thorhallsson’s fourth assist of the season to find the net.
Torres scored for the 10th time this season to give Orlando City a three-goal lead in the 85th minute. Duncan McGuire earned his third assist on the score and Nicolás Lodeiro, who subbed in in the 68th minute, picked up his 10th.
Pedro Gallese turned away two shots to earn his fifth clean sheet of the season for Orlando City.
Joe Willis finished with four saves for Nashville (6-13-8).
Orlando City posted a 3-0 road win over Nashville on July 17. New Nashville manager B.J. Callaghan took over after the loss.
Orlando has won five straight across all competitions in the series, outscoring Nashville 9-0 during the run.
Nashville and Orlando City return to action on Sept. 14 when Nashville travels to play Atlanta United and Orlando hosts the New England Revolution.
