WASHINGTON — A water main break in Prince George’s County caused early morning road closures in Hyattsville, Maryland, Saturday.
On Maryland Route 50, all lanes are blocked due to the water main break on northbound Queen Chapel Road between Ager Road and Hamilton Street.

The incident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. and also closed 35th Avenue to Queens Chapel Road. At around 12:30 p.m., WSSC said the water main was shut off and crews have started to drain the pipes.
Maryland State Highway Administration and WSSC crews are assessing the damage and managing the intersection, where drivers face traffic detours.
The City of Hyattsville Police Department said in a Facebook post that water services throughout the area may be impacted due to the incident.
