Police seek witnesses in motorcycle crash that left DC officer dead

WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County police are asking for the public’s help after an off-duty D.C. police officer was killed in a motorcycle crash in Clinton, Maryland.

Police are urging any witnesses to contact police in order to identify one of the drivers involved in the fatal crash.

Jamal Shaw, 27, was riding his motorcycle westbound on Piscataway Road when he was cut off by another driver around 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Shaw tried to evade the car that changed lanes in front of him, causing his motorcycle to slide on its side. That’s when a car traveling eastbound on Piscataway Road struck Shaw.

Police say the driver who struck Shaw stayed on the scene, but police are still trying to identify the driver who changed lanes in front of Shaw.

Witnesses can call Prince George’s County police at 301-731-4422. Anonymous callers can contact Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or report online.
