WASHINGTON — Metro Transit police are searching for the vandals who smashed the windows of more than 50 cars parked at the Greenbelt Metro station early Wednesday morning.
Metro spokesman Dan Stessel told WTOP 54 vehicles parked in the station’s lot overnight had their windows broken.
There are no reports of any items being taken from the vehicles, Stessel said. Metro believes the vandalism took place between 4 a.m. and 4:45 a.m. before the station opened.
Metro police are checking fingerprints on the vehicles, reviewing surveillance camera footage and working to identify potential witnesses.
Police Wednesday afternoon released photos of three suspects taken from surveillance cameras.
Anyone with information should contact the Metro Transit Police Department at 301-955-5000.
