WASHINGTON — The mayor of District Heights, Maryland has been found dead in his home and it’s unclear how he passed.
Around 11:35 a.m. Thursday, police were called to the home of 39-year-old James L. Walls, Jr.
District Heights Police Chief Elliott Gibson tells The Washington Post that paramedics found him unresponsive. Walls was pronounced dead about noon.
Prince George’s County Police, who are investigating the death, said in a news release that there are no signs of foul play.
According to the city’s website, Walls was serving his third term as mayor after being re-elected in 2014. He was the youngest person ever elected to the post in the city of about 6,000.
