Prince George’s homeowner shoots would-be intruder

WASHINGTON — A man shot and wounded a would-be intruder in his home in Temple Hills in the early hours of Wednesday, the police say.

The Prince George’s County police say that they got a call about a shooting just before 2 a.m. Wednesday in the 3900 block of Brinkley Road. When they got there, they found a man with apparent gunshot wounds. He was still conscious, and was taken to a hospital where the police say he’s in fair condition.

The police say that so far, it looks like the shooting victim had been trying to force his way into the home when the homeowner, who police say feared for his life, shot him. The homeowner and his wife were the only ones in the house, the police say, and they weren’t hurt.

The police are still investigating.
