WASHINGTON– New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says that if he were elected president, the United States would track foreign visitors just like FedEx tracks packages.
According to CNN, Christie said he’d ask FedEx founder Fred Smith to devise the system. He made the remarks at a town hall event Saturday.
“You go online and at any moment, FedEx can tell you where that package is,” he said. “Yet we let people come into this country with visas, and the minute they come in, we lose track of them.”
Christie’s comments echo similar sentiments offered by others in the Republican field of presidential contenders, most notably billionaire Donald Trump.
