WASHINGTON — If you didn’t make the call, fine.
But you made what looked to be the correct call on defensive pass interference in the fourth quarter, then picked up the flag. That’s inexcusable.
Not to mention the fact that Dez Bryant ran onto the field without his helmet to argue with the referees…and they listened to him!
Everyone has different opinions on this, and that’s fine. Especially Cowboys fans.
But go to NFL.com and you see this quote from Kevin Patra.
“The flag that wasn’t, which sparked a controversy. Regardless of how you view the play, it wasn’t why the Lions lost. Fact. End of story.”
I’m not really sure how he can say that. While it may not have been the lone reason they lost game, you can’t say it wasn’t the reason either. The Lions should have been able to tack on another 15 yards on the Bryant penalty and would have had the ball inside the Cowboys 20 with a three-point lead.
The entire momentum of that game shifted on that call. Fact. End of Story.
