The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $4.49 per share.
The independent ratings and analytics provider posted revenue of $3.68 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.65 billion.
S&P Global expects full-year earnings in the range of $17.50 to $17.75 per share.
