The Cincinnati-based company said it had profit of $1.26 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.43 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.41 per share.
The world’s largest consumer products maker posted revenue of $21.2 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $21.36 billion.
P&G expects full-year earnings in the range of $6.89 to $7.11 per share.
