The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.63 per share.
The insurance and retirement business posted revenue of $5.31 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $4.87 billion, which missed Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4.88 billion.
