On a per-share basis, the Lexington, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 47 cents.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 53 cents per share.
The gene therapy company posted revenue of $13.4 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $8.5 million.
