The Bad Homburg, Germany-based company said it had profit of 55 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 64 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 59 cents per share.
The dialysis services provider posted revenue of $5.71 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5.48 billion.
