The Newport Beach, California-based company said it had a loss of 43 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 18 cents per share.
The agricultural products company posted revenue of $119.3 million in the period.
American Vanguard shares have increased 10% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 12% in the last 12 months.
