Readers of the Business Journal know about the threats to the federal workforce, with thousands of workers across our capital region losing their jobs. For decades, the federal government was our economic ballast and stabilizing force. Now, as its dominance recedes, the region faces both risk and opportunity — and we cannot afford to stay neutral.

The central question is whether we can seize this moment together.
