The Warren, New Jersey-based company said it had a loss of $1.39 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of $1.54 per share.
The biopharmaceutical company posted revenue of $196.8 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $173.5 million.
PTC Therapeutics expects full-year revenue in the range of $750 million to $800 million.
