There is a premium price to pay for water access, luxury amenities, the highest quality construction and upkeep, and, perhaps most importantly, that exclusive McLean mailing address.
Ten of the 16 most expensive homes for sale across Greater Washington, all of which are priced at $15.9 million or higher, are in McLean, one of which is expected to close in a matter of weeks, likely becoming a top-five sale in Greater Washington history.
Break it down further, and we see six of the 10 can be found on one of two roads: Chain Bridge Road, of course, and Crest Lane, which parallels the Potomac Heritage Trail and overlooks the Potomac River.
These are just the homes we know of, because they’re publicly available for review through Bright MLS, the online database and multiple listing service. As we recently detailed, brokers are now free to market private listings, otherwise known as pocket listings, that are not visible to the public.
