The Houston-based company said it had profit of 30 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 31 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 36 cents per share.
The energy delivery company posted revenue of $1.86 billion in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.88 billion.
CenterPoint expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.61 to $1.63 per share.
